A short version of a live audio video performance conceived for “Paradisi artificiali”, a panel curated by Claudia Attimonelli and Vincenzo Susca at Internet Festival Pisa 2023. DJ Zoologist aka DJ Balli’s live set (featuring animal voice samples and his own tracks about animal rights, like “GALVANIzed by electrical energy coming from dissecting Luigi Galvani’s leg with zinc scapel and copper rods”) was accompanied by Karin Andersen’s visuals generated on stage using a fake VJing-device which apparently moved, mixed and modified the images and clips, and which also worked as an ultrasound-microscope-device capable to display magnified images of her body’s internal microbiome flora. The video aims to question the antropocentric way of thinking, spinning Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man – a major symbol of humanist culture – in a washing-machine-like shapeshifting-vortex (also reminding DJ Balli’s turntablism).
